Back in the eighties I read I Claudius by Robert Graves and was inspired. I'd always been intrigued by history. Mayhem in the Last Days of the Republic and The Dreams of Servius Agricola and his wife, Lillia are in a way, I Claudius' direct descendants. Robert Graves would never know.
And you hear about these people who find their great grandfathers journals in the dusty attic of their old family farmhouse in Indiana or someplace.
